TULSA, Okla. (December 19, 2022) – Hunger Free Oklahoma (HFO) has hired new organizational leadership with the addition of Doug McDurham as Director of Strategic Advancement. McDurham brings a wealth of nonprofit experience to the role and will serve as a member of the HFO executive team.
“In this next phase of HFO’s organizational life, it was crucial for us to expand our executive team to get fresh ideas and diverse perspectives,” said Chris Bernard, Hunger Free Oklahoma Executive Director. “We could not be more thrilled to welcome Doug to our Executive team. As we seek to scale solutions, build new partnerships, and continue to move the needle on hunger in Oklahoma, his experience and expertise will be crucial to our success.”
Based in Oklahoma City, Doug McDurham will spearhead strategic communications and fund development initiatives at HFO. Most recently, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Art Center Waco in Texas where he championed the opening of their new building, garnered positive statewide media, refined systems, and rebuilt trust in the local philanthropic community. McDurham’s background also includes serving as the Director of Strategy & Programs at the Baylor University Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, where he oversaw a year-long assessment of food assistance systems in Oklahoma, a project which helped lead to the creation of Hunger Free Oklahoma.
McDurham will begin his role with Hunger Free Oklahoma effective immediately.
